my story

Movement makes sense. I’ve always been enthralled by the body. Since I was a kid, I found that moving my body was one of the only things that made me feel better when I couldn’t get my words out. Then everything changed. When I was 10 years old I had a life altering surgery that almost killed me and couldn’t walk for months. My recovery took about a year, and has lead to other complications that I still feel to this day. This experience gave me even more appreciation for movement and has lead me to where I am right now.

I became a yoga teacher in 2016 and am currently registered as an E-RYT 500 teacher and faculty. Growing up as a dancer, I was used to moving my body for expression and balance, and as I grew older and more stressed, yoga was exactly the shift I needed. I always aim to teach in a way that is accessible, empowering, and creative. I absolutely love teaching and don’t plan on ever stopping, but I wanted something more, so I applied to graduate school.

I am a student at Northwestern Health Sciences University, pursuing my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. I chose this because Chiropractic Medicine, to me, is a bridge between intuitive medicine and western medicine. Chiropractic has helped me a lot in my own path of healing, and it is accessible! I aim to be a holistic neuromusculoskeletal doctor that brings in knowledge from yoga, meditation, nutrition, ancestors, research, science and movement therapies. I feel very privileged to be pursuing a career that completely aligns with my purpose and experiences.
